Development and collaboration

Imagine, if you will, for just a moment. An international network of doctors, technicians, agronomists, veterinarians educators, and more, from all corners of the Earth, coming together, all focusing on one area of the world. As we sail and stop in each country, these volunteers will aid by donating their knowledge, skills, time, energy, etc. towards local development by collaborating with locals in each country. We will seek out the permission of the national authorities and in collaboration with local NGO’s:

1. In agreement with the local health care authorities and the local NGO’s, the doctors will treat and advise those in need of help.
2. Amongst other things, the technicians will be manufacturing and building on-site water treatment plants, solar generators and similar technical elements locally.
3. The agronomists will support and collaborate with the inhabitants of rural areas.
4. The veterinarians will offer treatment and consultation free of charge. They will also hold seminars on how to combat an epizootic.
5. The educators will be supporting different types of educational establishments and help them to reach their material goals and ideas. Collaboration between schools and universities will be organized.

Helping hands for the world

“In November 2018 while visiting a friend at a Polish hospital, I got lost in the hallways and ended up in the children’s ward. Seeing an open door, I was very surprised when I peeped in… a boy, about 9-10 years old, without any hair, severely emaciated and with several tubes connected to his arms, smiled back at me. When he saw that I was hesitant, or rather shocked, his smile turned into laughter. I retreated ashamed of my reaction. His laughter was filled with so much vitality. We should hold the hands of these kids extremely tight.”

Soon after that day and during a conversation with the partners of FYD-Adventure, the project “Helping hands for the World” came to life. Our mainsail will wave proudly and wear the emblem of this special project, a hand that will carry the wishes and hopes of these children around the world.

In cooperation with ministries of health, hospitals and other institutions dedicated to the well-being of children, we will ask that girls and boys faced with health or social disadvantages trace their hands on a sheet of rice paper (biodegradable) on which they will write their dreams and wishes. Our volunteer leaders will organize and collect the hand tracings drawn by the children and assure that FYD-Adventure receives them so that they may be included.

From the expedition yacht, we will release a drone with a basket attached. It will float into the air from specially chosen points, from different countries, and from different continents. For example, on the Baltic Sea near the border between Germany and Poland, or from the Straits of Bosporus and Gibraltar.This will only take place after we have received the permission from the local authorities.

The hands which the children have traced onto rice paper will be placed inside the basket. From the designated release point, a small child will trigger a mechanism which will open the basket and the wishes and dreams of the children will be carried away by the wind with the hopes that many will come true.

Cuture -

“In the widest sense, culture encompasses everything created by human beings”

A detailed study about ancient traditions, their origins and their future is a crucial part of the project and will be carried out with the collaboration of several First Nations Organizations.

We want to experience, document and transmit music, singing and dance which are among the most beautiful forms that mankind expresses himself.

Both paintings and sculptures will be a part of this journey. We will visit cultural and historical places, as well as contemporary museums and galleries. Additionally, we will have artists on board to document, each in their own unique way, their experience and the discoveries they make along the way.

Eating is more than a biological necessity. Naturally, there will be a culinary aspect to the journey as the FYD team members must eat and prepare meals as they travel and work. A member of our organization will focus on traditional food, but part of his task will be to encourage a culinary culture that changes as we leave one country and enter the next. The team will cook together, try out the many different dishes made with local fare and dine together.

Documentations and reportages

As part of the preparation, two members of our organization have completed their cinematography studies and a third one is a qualified sound assistant.
These team members, along with the help of other video and audio professionals, will film the FYD team throughout the shipbuilding process, the expedition preparations, and, of course, during the 10-year circumnavigation around the globe to create a full-length documentary film.

FYD-Adventure will film documentaries and while on land expeditions take photos of the inhabitants, their culture, the way they live and record the surrounding nature in its original form.

A close collaboration with both national and international media (television and radio) will take place throughout the duration of the project.
In addition, all team members will create their own short films and document the trip through personal photographs which will be shared as additional content.

We have countless ideas for the FYD-Adventure project, but it is important to us that anyone who wishes to participate may do so. If you have a project that you feel could enrich humanity, an idea that may contribute to protecting living beings of all kinds or bring about technical innovations, or perhaps you simply want to share ways we can enhance the project on a cultural or ethical level, we want to hear from you.
