The world map with the non-detailed navigation route of our expedition yacht

A 10-year world tour including land expeditions is too long to be fully planned in advance. The geopolitical situation of the world changes daily and must be taken into account as the project progresses. We will announce the exact details of the trip approximately 6 months in advance.

The allotted journey time of 10 years should be considered as a minimum period. Here, we offer an estimated overview of the different stages of the journey on our world map. Of course, this is only an overview and does not include the smaller details which as stated above will evolve and unfold throughout the journey.

All expeditions that take place - on land, on rivers and lakes - are for the most part closely linked to specific, scientific research projects. We expect a preparation time of approximately 12 months for each of these projects and which we plan to announce the details 6 months in advance. The projects will often be run independently from the navigation and research done by our expedition yacht team.

Our journey will begin in the sommer with the baptism of our boat in front of the Humboldt Forum museum housed in the reconstructed Berlin City Palace on the Spree River. That day there will be a press conference and a party.
The FYD-Adventure team will then depart Berlin sailing towards the Baltic Sea where we will get up our first weather balloon with childhood dreams near the German-Polish border.
